A modern Facade with Bold lines and open curtain windows creates interest from the street views.
Form Generation Organic lines inspired by a cactus and the unique structure from a metro map are translated to the lines seen in the store. These lines carve out elements of the store by a means of way finding and retail functions. BOLD lines to capture interest from the exterior into the SUBTLE lines in the interior. The new flagship store has the opportunity to show that Freitag is not your everyday store like their products, they are INDIVIDUAL, HONEST AND SLIGHTLY FUCKED UP.
Layers of lighting were added to best display and enhance the product. An overall ambient lighting is provided by oversized industrial style pendant lighting that fill the open space. The track lighting is adjustable to any angle a product is at on the floor. Accent fixtures are added to areas that need an extra pop of light. To keep the industrial feel, the exposed concrete beams are painted black to create contrast.

Freitag is a unique company who focuses on recontextualizing and giving used materials new life.
Since 1993, two Swiss brothers, Markus and Daniel Freitag had a MISSION to create a bag that was HEAVY-DUTY, FUNCTIONAL AND WATER-REPELLENT for their daily needs. By watching the highway across their Zürich flat, they realized that the BRIGHTLY COLORED TARPS from the sides of large semi trucks could fulfill their bag requirements, the brothers had an idea. FREITAG now employs around 160 people and their products now sell WORLDWIDE, including in 470 stores, online and in the FREITAG locations in Berlin, Davos, Hamburg, Cologne, Vienna, Tokyo, Zürich, and Lausanne. Freitag is now looking to open a Flagship store in Los Angeles, California to jump start their North America base.
